A highly successful Seattle based civil defense litigation firm is looking to add an associate attorney to our team. Floyd | Pflueger has over 30 years of successful client representation achieved through the involvement of attorneys at all levels of the firm. Associates are immediately involved in drafting and opposing motions, depositions, discovery, court hearings and trials.

Located in Seattle, we are a small in-office law firm overlooking beautiful Puget Sound. We pride ourselves on fostering relationships, supporting each other in our practice areas, continually improving processes and consciously providing opportunities to build community amongst ourselves. While hybrid work is available, we value our in-office time together. 

 The skills and abilities of successful candidates include:

  • At least three years’ experience.
  • Experience working with insurance companies and within their respective guidelines is a plus but not required.
  • Active membership in Washington state bar.
  • Excellent research, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Clerkship experience a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work with colleagues professionally, effectively, and respectfully.
  • Desire to develop relationships with individuals who have different cultural frameworks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Floyd, Pflueger, Kearns, Nedderman & Gress, P.S. is a highly successful civil defense litigation firm comprised of employees dedicated to excelling in their areas of expertise.  Our 30 years of successful client representation have been achieved through team collaboration, skilled personnel, professional development at all levels of the firm, and a demonstrated commitment to our communities.

Located in Seattle, we are a small in-office law firm overlooking beautiful Puget Sound.  We pride ourselves on fostering relationships, supporting each other in our practice areas, continually improving processes and consciously providing opportunities to build community amongst ourselves. 

This full-time in-office position, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, and is a blend of billing and office assistant tasks.

Billing Coordinator (80%) 

  • Process incoming A/P invoices per each client’s billing guidelines.
  • Post and pay client costs using Tabs3 billing software.
  • Communicate with adjusters and vendors to coordinate payments of case related work.
  • Enter and edit attorney/paralegal billable time to ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Track and update attorney hours and write offs for management.
  • Send out shared records cost invoices to other firms based on paralegal notes.
  • Sort and file client documents/invoices for electronic and manual storage.
  • Pull billing reports and data as requested by attorneys to support motion practice and budget creation.
  • Record credit card, mileage, postage, and copying transactions, charging clients on a case-by-case basis.
  • Back up Bookkeeper in their absence.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Bookkeeper and CEO.

Office Assistant (20%)

  • Assist Office Manager processing and distributing incoming mail.
  • Track, order and stock office and kitchen supplies, and copier toner for desktop printers.
  • Back up the Office Assistant when they are out of the office. Tasks include coffee preparation, dishwashers, copier machine paper supply, newspapers, conference room set up/take down for client meetings, stocking the beverage refrigerator.    
  • Assist legal assistants with case scheduling, binder preparation, printing case documents.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

The skills, abilities and experience of successful candidates include:

  • Two years of previous accounting related experience or schooling regarding same.
  • Use of 10-key and data entry skills a plus
  • Ability to accurately process large volumes of numerical information
  • Ability to work with colleagues professionally, effectively, and respectfully.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload and timelines.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and offer proactive support.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in all situations.
  • Desire to develop relationships with individuals who have different cultural frameworks.

As a paralegal, you will support multiple attorneys in the insurance defense environment. 

The skills, abilities and experience of successful candidates include:

  • Minimum three years’ experience as a paralegal.
  • Gathering medical records and working with experts.
  • Summarizing medical records and creating summary reports.
  • Working knowledge of rules, processes and procedures related to records management, subpoenas, witnesses.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal court rules.
  • Documentation demonstrating exceptional writing and grammar.
  • Initiative and comfortability working independently under minimal supervision.
  • Professional communication with a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff via email, phone and in-person.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload and timelines.
  • Flexibility in responding to multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in all situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Prior experience with NetDocuments desired but not required.
